Phonographie

This study proposes an ambitious typology of the written representation of oral speech. It is based on a detailed semiological examination of the relationship between orality and literacy as well as on an analysis of data stemming from literary discourse. Three types of representation of orality are distinguished, where the written form appeals to the phonographic system, the metalinguistic semantics or the prosodic performance of the reader.

La collection Études de linguistique française (ELF) est ouverte aux monographies scientifiques qui se donnent comme objet de recherche principal la langue française, laquelle est entendue dans toute sa diversité historique et variationnelle. Dans cette perspective, la linguistique française ne saurait être dissociée de la linguistique générale. La collection a vocation à couvrir les différents secteurs du domaine grammatical, les problématiques descriptives et interprétatives des réalisations écrites ou orales de la langue. Elle accueille également les études d épistémologie historique des grammaires du français, ainsi que des travaux portant sur la terminologie et le discours linguistique de langue française.
