'I would gladly have done some more fiddling, but I was accompanied so badly that it gave me the colic.' Thus Mozart, writing to his father on 16 October 1777. He would probably have taken great pleasure in this new urtext edition, for the piano reduction is especially stylish and easy to play - unlike so many editions whose overloaded piano parts neglect the needs of the accompanist. The text of the solo part corresponds exactly to Mozart's own notation, and the cadenzas supplied by the Munich virtuoso Kurt Guntner are an authoritative and stylistically reliable bonus._; « J'aurais bien tenu plus longtemps le violon », écrit Mozart son père (16 octobre 1777), « mais j'étais si mal accompagné que j'ai été pris de coliques ». Le compositeur aurait certainement apprécié cette édition. La réduction pour piano est bien conçue et facile à jouer, répondant ainsi de façon idéale aux exigences de l'accompagnement, si souvent négligé (car surchargé) dans de nombreuses éditions. Le texte de la partie soliste reprend exactement la notation de Mozart et les cadences écrites par Kurt Guntner, le virtuose munichois du violon, représentant un authentique enrichissement, caractérisé par une grande sûreté de style._; 'Ich hätte gern mehr gegeigt, aber ich wurde so schlecht accompagnirt, daß ich die Colic bekamm', schreibt Mozart einmal seinem Vater (16. Oktober 1777). An dieser neuen Urtextausgabe hätte er wohl seine Freude gehabt. Denn der Klavierauszug ist gut gesetzt und leicht zu spielen, dient also ideal dem in vielen Ausgaben so sehr vernachlässigten (weil überfrachteten) 'Accompagnieren'. Der Text der Solostimme entspricht exakt Mozarts Aufzeichnung, und die Kadenzen aus der Feder des Münchener Geigenvirtuosen Kurt Guntner sind eine echte, stilsichere Bereicherung._
