Joseph Bodin de Boismortier - Kleine Sonaten und Chaconne op. 66 für zwei Violoncelli (Fagotte)

Thanks to a royal privilege, French composer Joseph Bodin de Boismortier was able to publish and disseminate his works himself, which is why they quickly found their way into the teaching and performance repertoire in the eighteenth century. Duos for two equal bass instruments, such as the nine 'Petites Sonates' op. 66 followed by a concluding chaconne, were as popular then as they are today: The short movements with dance-like character allow beginners to play together already early on and offer advanced players the opportunity for imaginative embellishment and stylistic presentation of the merely rudimentarily notated musical text.
In accordance with the original edition published in 1737, the Henle Urtext edition presents the duos in score form, whereby the spontaneous switching of parts in the repeats of the individual sections is possible. Included to assist beginner cellists is a second score with fingerings and bowings by the experienced pedagogue Thomas Klein - thus, nothing stands in the way of musical enjoyment!; Grâce à un privilège royal, le compositeur français Joseph Bodin de Boismortier fut autorisé à publier et diffuser ses oeuvres lui-même - ce pour quoi elles trouvèrent rapidement le chemin du répertoire pédagogique et de concert au 18e siècle. Les duos pour deux instruments basses identiques, comme les neuf «Petites sonates» op. 66 suivies d'une chaconne finale, étaient tout autant appréciés autrefois qu'ils le sont aujourd'hui. Les mouvements brefs de caractère dansant permettent aux débutants d'accéder très tôt à la musique de chambre et offrent aux instrumentistes confirmés la possibilité d'ornementer et d'interpréter librement la partition qui ne comporte que peu d'indications.
Conformément à l'édition originale parue en 1737, l'édition Henle Urtext présente les duos sous forme de partition, permettant ainsi une alternance spontanée entre les deux voix lors de la reprise des différents passages. Une deuxième partition pourvue de doigtés et de coups d'archet établis par le pédagogue éprouvé Thomas Klein a été ajoutée pour aider les violoncellistes débutants - rien ne s'oppose donc au plaisir du jeu!; Dank eines königlichen Privilegs durfte der französische Komponist Joseph Bodin de Boismortier seine Werke im Eigenverlag verbreiten - weswegen sie im 18. Der 1737 erschienenen Originalausgabe folgend, präsentiert die Henle-Urtextausgabe die Duos in Partiturform, wodurch ein spontaner Wechsel der Stimmen bei der Wiederholung der einzelnen Satzabschnitte möglich ist. Als Hilfestellung für Cello-Einsteiger liegt eine zweite, von dem bewährten Pädagogen Thomas Klein mit Fingersatz und Strichbezeichnung versehene Spielpartitur bei - dem Musiziervergnügen steht also nichts im Wege!
