Beethoven, Ludwig van - Klavierkonzert Nr. 4 G-dur op. 58

Ludwig van Beethoven composed his five large piano concertos over a period of twenty years. His Fourth Concerto in G major op. 58, largely written in 1805/06, is here presented in a piano reduction for two pianos. This edition, in the quality one has come to expect from an Urtext, is based on the Beethoven Complete Edition and is designed for practical use. Indications of the instrumentation have been added to the second piano part for purposes of musical orientation. In his extensive preface, Beethoven researcher Hans-Werner Küthen discusses the special source situation of the Fourth Piano Concerto. This is the only one of Beethoven's five concertos for which the autograph score has not survived. For this Urtext edition, this offered an incentive for a most exacting examination of all other extant sources.; Ludwig van Beethoven composa ses cinq grands concertos pour piano en l'espace de vingt ans. Ainsi y ont notamment été ajoutées des indications d'instrumentation dans la partie du deuxième piano, afin de permettre à l'interprète de mieux s'orienter. Dans sa préface détaillée, le spécialiste de Beethoven Hans-Werner Küthen revient aussi sur les particularités de l'état des sources relatives au 4e concerto pour piano. En effet, l'opus 58 est le seul des cinq concertos pour lequel aucune partition autographe n'a été retrouvée. Cette situation a donc donné lieu à une étude particulièrement approfondie de toutes les autres sources disponibles.; In einem Zeitraum von zwanzig Jahren komponierte Ludwig van Beethoven seine fünf großen Klavierkonzerte. Das im Wesentlichen 1805/06 entstandene 4. Konzert in G-dur op. 58 legen wir hier im Klavierauszug für zwei Klaviere vor. Die Ausgabe in gewohnter Urtext-Qualität basiert auf der Beethoven-Gesamtausgabe und ist für den praktischen Gebrauch eingerichtet. So wurden auch zur musikalischen Orientierung im zweiten Klavier Instrumentenangaben hinzugesetzt. In seinem ausführlichen Vorwort geht der Beethoven-Forscher Hans-Werner Küthen auf die besondere Quellenlage zum 4. Klavierkonzert ein. Denn Opus 58 ist das einzige der fünf Konzerte, zu dem keine autographe Partitur überliefert ist. Das bot für diese Urtextedition Anreiz zu einer genauesten Prüfung aller übrigen erhaltenen Quellen.
