Pfade der Obdach- und Wohnungslosigkeit in Wien

The project 'Pathways of Homelessness in the City of Vienna' examines transitions between different phases and forms of precarious housing and homelessness. It analyses pathways into, through, and out of different phases of homelessness back into stable housing. It focuses on lived experiences of people who experienced homelessness and on transitions between different phases, to gain insights into living situations, personal needs, as well as emotional and social lifeworlds. Based on biographical interviews with persons who have experienced homelessness in their lifetime and have re-entered long-term, stable housing, the project develops a phase model of homelessness and precarious housing using the ETHOS Light Typology. The analysis yields policy recommendations that can support the work of housing-related social service organizations, prevent housing loss, and inform the design of relevant services.
