The Beauty of Impermanence ist die umfassende Dokumentation der Sharjah-Architektur-Triennale 2023. In deren Zentrum standen die kontrastierenden Strategien des Globalen Nordens und Südens im Umgang mit knappen Ressourcen während der letzten vier Jahrhunderte. Im Glauben an endlose Fülle und technologischen Fortschritt und getragen von religiösen und mythologischen Rechtfertigungen für Kolonialismus und Sklaverei, hat der Norden diese Ressourcen hemmungslos ausgebeutet. Im Gegensatz dazu ging der Süden, geprägt vom Bewusstsein ständiger Knappheit, sparsam, innovativ und an-passungsfähig damit um, stets auf der Suche nach nachhaltigen Lösungen, die heute als Blaupause für künftiges globales Ressourcenmanagement dienen können.
