Ausgangspunkt ist die Beobachtung, dass Verfassungen nicht nur soziale Ordnungen strukturieren, sondern Erzählungen erzeugen, Identitäten stiften und Konflikte rahmen. Besonders im Vergleich zum symbolisch stark aufgeladenen US-Konstitutionalismus fehlt dem Grundgesetz ein revolutionärer Moment und greifbare Verfassungsdokumente.
